History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

February 06, 2008
So here it is the first week of February. My training is coming along nicely. I have been busy builing up my strength and endurance in the gym. The weather outside is still not cooperating for outdoor activity.

First of all my spin classes - I have been having a lot of fun pushing my students in the spin class. My classes have been full with no room for others. I have had to turn people away do to lack of bikes. Lasting only 40-45 minutes, the class is long enought to push most people. I have been slowly pushing them into longer sets and harder sets. It seems to be working. I think they are starting to get the idea of exercise. The one thing I don't think they realize is that i see thier facial expressions and it motivates me to push them further.

Second - weight lifting and body specific specialization. I have been working on specific muscle groups to buildup. Arms and back for swimming, legs and core for everything else. Working the core muscles is one of the most important area to work on. All movement starts from the core, so therefore a strong core will help with swimming, biking and running.

Third - Swimming has taken on a new energy. I have been pushing my training and swimming more lately. I have concentrated on form more now than ever. I recently ordered a "Finnis Forearm Fulcrum" This is suppose to help with training the arms to keep that paddle shape during movement.

So life has been going pretty good. My house is finally on the market. My divorce is final. I have been able to stay in town most of the week at a friends house. My training is coming along. At the moment everything is going well in my life. If only I can hold on to what I have right now.
