History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

Update and Product Review
May 06, 2008

Hello Everyone.

It's now May - God, where does time go anymore. It just seems that the months go flying past faster and faster.

So I think I am now on week 5 of my training. This week starts another buildup. Last week was my recovery week. Some recovery - I pushed pretty hard last week.

I just want to apologize to anyone that I ever talked to that road mountain bikes and I told them that road cycling was harder. Why do I say that...... Well, I mentioned in my last update that I signed up for an Xterra Race right... So Sunday I decided to try it out and planned a 23 mile ride on some local trails.

That has got to be one of the hardest 23 miles I have ever done. I was pretty much toasted by the time I got back to the house. I was sore, sweaty and dirty. My bike needed a bath and so did I. It definitely will build up my legs in a new way. I need to keep this kind of training up - My legs will be stronger for my road rides.
My runs have been doing OK. Today's run was a little on the slow side but my legs are still wasted from this weekend's ride and last nights Spin Class. I am able to get them some rest tonight though. I need to start getting in some long runs pretty soon. This Friday I have an 8 mile run planned.

This weekend is my first Sprint Tri of the year - LittleFoot Tri in Morrison. This is a 750 meter open water swim, a 12 mile bike and a 5k run. The water is suppose to be at about 60 degrees. This is the coldest swim of the year. Last year I did not do so hot in the swim. The coldness of the water caused me to lose my breath early - I think this year will be different. My swim has improved greatly since last season.

That brings me to my Product Review: this product rocks - if anyone swims multiple laps in the water - bored. Then, this is for you.

For my birthday my girlfriend gave me the H2O Audio Waterproof Case and H3 Headphones. I was a little sceptical about the product at first - but I am here to tell you that this product is top notch. It worked very well swimming laps in the pool. The headphones were very comfortable, an work very well. The sound was pretty good for being under water. Occasionally the sound was muffled when water would get in during flip turns but most of the time the sound was great. The case itself works very well - the controls are easy to use. All in all I will give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

So I am going to finish up this week and work on packing for Sunday - My transition gear needs to be checked out. I will be leaving on Saturday night and sleeping in my new Tri-Box. The Honda Element, Perfect vehicle for crazy triathletes like myself.
