I Don’t Wanna Stop

New Week |
January 29, 2008 |
Well it's been a great start to the week. Last night at my spin class I had 17 students. Hell I had to turn away 3-4 people because there were not enough bikes for everyone. Everyone seemed to have fun while sweating and burning off calories. Spin classes are great for getting the exercise you need without the harmful effects of running and jogging. There is not as much pounding on the joints.
So what of the training schedule. So far this week I got in some good strength training. Working my arms and shoulders yesterday. I felt that I was able to push harder than usual. It actually felt quite good. I have not had that kind of muscle aching for a long time. I was able to take my biceps and triceps to failure.
I also got in about 1400 yards in swimming. I worked on technique and drills for most of the session. I find myself pulling harder and longer with each session. I have been working harder at bilateral breathing than I have in the past. I think it would be a good thing to have a great handle on when I do the ironman distance race.
So tomorrow I will be back at the gym. the weather has not been cooperating for much outdoor running in the mornings. the weather has been very cold with wind chills in the single digits. I will be glad when the weather warms up. I want to get the bike back on the road. The rubber back blacktop. I am itching for a nice bike ride. Nice long bike ride to shake out the cobwebs. So for now, I am going to continue to train as best I can. continue to work on my training schedule, and continue to pray for better weather. CIAO! |
