History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

December 06, 2007
This has been an absolute awesome week. The weather has been holding out pretty good for Colorado. Helps with the heating bills, don't cha know!

Well I had my first and second spin class this week.

I was pretty nervous on Monday for the beginners class. Nothing seemed to go right at first. The headset system was not working. The music volume would not stay the same. I felt like I was going to hurl. You know - normal shit. But, after the warm up song I settled in and had a great first class. There were 9 students in the class and everyone appeared to have fun, while still burning loads of calories. A few of my Tri-Club members and friends showed up for support. The music was right on for the exercises on Monday. Last night's class was larger with 11 students - that was all the bikes we had anyway. Last night was a harder class, but still it appeared that everyone had fun and worked out hard. After practicing all week I found that last night I was in even better rhythm with the songs. I mixed it up a lot to keep them all guessing and I talked and encouraged everyone to keep going throught the hard parts.

I just got back from the gym and we got in 5 of the new bikes. Talk about fricken awesome!!!!

The next class is going to be great. We are expecting another 5 bikes in the near future. I can't wait. After last nights class I think I could probably fill a 20 bike session after the word gets out about my classes. Let's see how these progress. This sure is a fun way to work out for me as well. I feel that I am burning more calories and strengthening more now than I ever have. My body fat percentage is down to 9.6% and dropping fast. With that, as you know, comes the 6-pack abs I have always wanted. Hooya!
