History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

Spin Class
December 03, 2007

Well.

Tonight is the night - the debut, the first of hopefully many Spin Classes.

I will be taking on the job of instructor, coach, trainer for whomever desires to join the Spin Class Group.

I am pretty nervous. Although I think I am well prepared. I just hope that someone shows up to take the class.

Life has been going well lately. I feel more optimistic with every day that passes. I am looking forward to starting up my triathlon training for the Iron-distance Redman race. I got to watch the Kona Championship over the weekend and can almost feel the energy that those athletes are feeling. It will be a lot of work - but it will be worth every drop of sweat.

I have started my journal back up. Having a training journal is one of the most important things that any athlete should do. Not only does it give you the ability to look back on training. But it also makes you accountable to your program. It's hard to write down that you didn't do anything on a particular day when the schedule is right there right in front of you. Writing down your meals is a great way to control calories and the types of food that you are eating.

I will finally have an exercise room at home pretty soon. I have been working on fixing up several rooms in the house. Hopefully to sell it as soon as possible. But having a room that is devoted to exercise will be great. I need to get my bike back up on the trainer and start working it hard through the winter months. As well as working out my core muscles. Strength training and plyometric exercises of the core muscles helps the total body to prepare for the strain of a rigorous exercise training program like that of an ironman event.

Let's see how tonight goes. Maybe I can make a difference in the life of someone that is out of shape. For Now - Amorevole Vita !
