A blog from a "Middle of the Pack Marathoner" starting his journey from Newbie to Ironman. The ride is awesome!

History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

Good Morning All !

I woke up this morning with the hopes of many inches of snow falling in the area today. Once I got to work I found my hopes smashed with sunny skies and warm weather. Well what the heck is with the weather this year. This is suppose to be winter not spring. Maybe global warming is a bigger problem than we think it is.

Lately I have been thinking about the gifts and toys that are on my list for Christmas. Not that I am geeked out about triathlon's but almost everything on the list is related to my bike in some way. Anyway I was thinking, if I could have anything in the world for Christmas what would I ask for ----- Hmmmmmm

Dear Santa,

This is my special Christmas list - see what you can do;

1 - Running shoes that propel me along, rockets would be nice.

2- Swim lanes painted on the bottom of the lake.

3 - Roadside assistance when I flat.

4 - For that matter - auto inflating tires !!!!

5 - Never ending water bottles.

6 - A wetsuit that is easy to get out of.

7- Triathlon coaching that doesn't cost more than my bike.

8 - Airlines that don't lose your bike. Or break it!

9 - Fail proof training and nutrition program. Yeah, World Peace would be easier.

10 - A bike lane on every road.

As you can see - this list could go on and on.

During this special time of year, we do need to remember those of us that are in harms way in the Military. We often take our lives for granted, try training for a Triathlon in Iran.

Let Freedom Ring.

Great list - I came upon your blog in a search because the post was similar to one I wrote this week (another letter to Santa). It's a great blog - and I love the Foo Fighters video.

    Enjoy your training in 2007.
