History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

Awesome Weekend
October 23, 2006
What a weekend!

The Saturday meeting of Team RaceAthlete in Boulder was absolutely awesome.

As you read on Friday - I drove up to Boulder on Saturday in order to finally meet the people behind the PodCasts. SimplyStu, Bret from Zen and the Art of Triathlon, IronWil from Get Your Geek On. I arrived early and sat at the bar for what was the best Guinness I have had in a long time. The Hungry Toad on Broadway in Boulder is a great restaurant. Here is a picture of the Podcast gang and me!!!!

About 6 pm the folks started coming in, there were reps from BMC bikes, Cycleops, 2XU. Mike from D3 Multisport Coaching was there. Plus the podcasters. It was like Triathlon euphoria.

I was able to sit down and eat dinner with some of the biggest names in Triathlon. The Podcasters were as down to earth as I expected. These Triathletes love the sport and the people that participate in the sport. The energy that comes from them, especially Stu, is enough to power me for the next year. I wish I would be ready for Ironman Wisconsin next year so that I could be considered for a full sponsorship. I just don't think I could be ready for that event. I will be ready for Ironman Florida in 2008 regardless of any sponsorship. I would love to be picked up by Team RaceAthlete in the future. Hell I would take a sponsorship and work 2x as hard if they asked me right now. Am I nuts or what.

After a great evening of fun, food and a beer, I headed back home. I got home about 11:30 pm and in true triathlon form was up at 4:00am to go to work. Why am I working extra shifts at the hospital - because I'm earning my new bike money, duh! This weekend is the Denver Velo Swap and I am so looking forward to all the bike porn that I am going to be subjected to. WOW what a week I have planned. I still need to get in a bunch of miles this week as well. My ankle is feeling much better and it's time to pile it on. Hope everyone has a great week. CIAO
