History
I started running in January of 2004 to get in shape. I had gained too much weight and felt terrible. I was able to run my first 5K 3 months later. 2 years later and 50 lbs lighter, I have continued to push for greater goals and have run 5 marathons and I am training for an Iron distance triathlon now. Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude towards life, training and my future.

Sleepless Night
October 04, 2006
Another rough night sleeping. I don't know why but my mind would not shut off. I tossed and turned most of the night and pretty much remember looking at the clock each hour. I probably should have just got up and watched TV. Now I can't even remember what was keeping me awake. I think I was thinking about the bike I found yesterday.

I have been looking for a new bike for next year's race season and I think I found it - now I need to find a way to pay for it. I think I will be staying with Felt Racing and I think the S22 will fullfill my needs. I am just an age-grouper. I don't think I will ever get to the point where the Pro's will be worrying about me. Therefore, I don't think I will be getting a $5000.00 bike anytime soon. Not that I wouldn't love one. The s22 is reasonably priced and sturdy enough for Colorado Roads. Now the hard part - coming up with the funds. Anyone have any ideas?

Today I was back in the water this morning. It was quite crowded and I got there late. I didn't get the usual side of the pool and the person swimming there felt that a lap lane was too cumbersome. Oh well, I got the middle of the pool. I did ladder drills today with flip turns. Right now my sinuses are still draining pool water. I also worked on form and did drills for the last 15 minutes. Overall I had a good pool day. Next time I need to get there earlier though.

Tomorrow is hillwork again with 880 repeats uphill. OOOOO what fun!!!!! I just love doing f*&^%$^ hills. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, Right?
